Indonesia Jogjakarta Simple Lifestyle in the City

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

When I was in Jogjakarta for my business trip, what impressed me the most was the simple lifestyle of everyone there. Comparing ourselves from the major city and them, they don’t pursue after wealthy and richest, but a simple life where they enjoy the most. I can see they really enjoy their daily life while we always rush from a place to another destination just to earn a living. Isn’t better if we just live a simple life, yet meaningful instead of everyday rush hours?

I manage to get a shot of the people lifestyle where they were playing carrom by the road side. Question is, will you/we play carrom by the roadside and tourist will actually looking at you when you’re playing? I even witnessed with my own eyes that they were sleeping by the roadside or corridor; is not one of them, but many of them… Will you do that?

This is what they call the “Undag” in Indonesia if I’m correct. In Malaysia, we call this “Kereta Kuda”. Well, I think they name it quite nice and advanced comparing Kereta Kuda in Malaysia :D

Of course, one of the main transportation is the trishaw or in Bahasa we call it “beca”. I had this trishaw on every nights with my colleagues, and we will be brought to many streets and places. It was during the fasting month that time, thus we can’t see any interesting stuff, and they closed their shops/doors very early. If you have the chance to be there, make sure you take it. I’m sure you’ll love it. I paid for a ride at RM10 only and I was up there for nearly 45min :D

Bei Zhan Restaurant Melaka Grand Opening

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Last Monday I went back Melaka to attend Bei Zhan Restaurant Melaka Opening in their new building. We’re very close with the bosses as well as they are also our customer, so I went back with my colleagues and also brought my camera along. They have an official photographer to cover the entire event, also one of our friend, so mainly I’ll be doing some behind the scene shots more since the front end will be cover by another photographer.

It was a really grand opening, once again in their new building. They shifted from their old restaurants situated in Taman Melaka Raya to Taman Kota Laksamana. The new restaurant’s design are fantastic, designed by Nestor Design company – also one of my friend :)

The food that were served on that day were fantastic. Live band were called in to entertain the guests and karaoke were also powered up at 9:30pm to make the entire place even merrier.

Let the pictures tells you the stories :)

 \  The end.. Cheers!

Last Saturday we did a Model Shoot in Putrajaya Precinct 1. If you know well about Putrajaya, one of the happening tourist spot in Putrajaya is Precinct 1, where you can enjoy the Prime Minister Office, the flags & water fountain, the river lake as well as the red mosque. If you spend a little more time to round around Putrajaya, you’ll be able to see a few beautiful bridges there as well. One of the bridge I took last year is here.

Oh ya, I did a shoot alone in Putrajaya last year, where you can see here & here as well.
