Sony organized a Sony Basic Photography with Alpha-JB-28.9.08 event in JB. That was the reason I planned my trip down to Singapore first before attending the event on Sunday

It was a great event and nice time we had together. John Shum from Sony took over the entire seminar by giving talks, outdoor shooting with models and photos critics time.

I learnt a lot during the event on how to control lighting, how to set ISO, white balance, color temperature and so on. Even though these are just a basic stuff, but some of the function like “Custom White Balance”, I really don’t know how to use until John showed to us.

Sony had prepared us two models for outdoor shooting by the pool side. The two models are nice and not arrogant. You can request whatever pose you want, and they will do it for you. This is the job of photographer, right? Haha… but I still like natural pose by them

I believe all of us agree, we were having hard time spotting the right position to shoot the photos of the models. So all of us kept asking them to go here and there just to get some nice shots.

I think this girl has a natural smile. She had hard time with us as all of us don’t know what to request for her to pose. But she’s aggressive till she will spot for the area, and we’ll follow her

One of the participant ask her to go into the swimming pool, but she said that she didn’t bring any extra cloths… **opppss…* We have no choice but ask her to play some water by the pool side. Some of the participant suggest that next time shooting, we must bring extra cloths along, not for us, but for the models… hahaha… we laugh like crazy..

I shot this with fast shutter speed just to catch the movement of the water and the hand.

I like this photo and the movement of the model. Cute face and nice movement along the hands with the water from the pool. See, she just can reach that area, and can’t go any further into the pool… If she can go into the pool, there will be greater effect

This girl also quite fun. She will even joke with all of us. I think she had a fun time together with us even though she do not know all of us. One of the participant took the opportunity to snap a photo with her. I didn’t know we can do that !!!

John said that we’re not necessary must snap the models only. We also can snap other areas beside the models. Oh ya…!! There was a wedding ceremony going on at the resort. So, I joined the ceremony and I spotted this lady, quite cute and pretty. Her skin color is very beautiful. I snap the above photo in front of her. That’s why she gave me a smile…

The wedding were witnessed by family  members, club house members, relatives and friends. Of course, by us, outsider photographers. I like the view, many expressions you can see from there…

Wowoooo….. I like this guy do the stunt. I saw him did the first time, then he came out of the pool… of course, I quickly aim at him, cos I know this guy what’ he’s going to do… he went far far way, run and jump into the pool…

I quickly snap this shot. He’s hanging in the air ~~!

There goes our Sony Alpha workshop in Johor Bahru. Thanks to John for conducting the seminar, and the crew members for preparing everything
